Admiral D`s Waterfront Tavern in White Bear Lake

They have a beautiful patio on White Bear Lake, friendly staff, and good food.

The view was gorgeous and the sweet potato fries were amazing, but the service was horrible. Extremely slow.

Admiral's is a great spot to sit on the patio for lunch in the Summer. The patio is right up next to the lake. I recommend the fish tacos!

Good place to tie up the boat and stop in for a snack and a drink!

View is nice but sad to report that we ordered around 5pm and got our food sometime past 645. Then we waited 45 minutes to get the check. At 730 I had to leave my husband at the table to pay after not even so much as getting a glance from any waitstaff. Hope they improve their staff training and management so we can come back and enjoy the atmosphere again.

We met with friends at this spot for lunch. my friend recommended this spot. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was tasty. We loved this restaurant very much and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Keep it up.

The lake front atmosphere is great. We were greeted right away and a server took our order as soon as we were ready. The food came quickly and was done very well. It tasted great and was decently priced. I have heard you have to wait for up to an hour to get seated some days, but we walked right in and sat down. Definitely going to be back again soon. Very casual dining. Love it!

So wonderful to be by the water for a light meal, in a relaxed open setting. We felt very safe - Wait staff wore masks, and were very efficient. Food was great, too!

Great patio....and then it stops there. Plan on ordering a cocktail before you head out on the lake and it should be about ready by the time you are back. Understaffed and the food is a no go.

The location of this bar is very convenient, obviously since you can dock your boat coming off the water. Otherwise, the food was typical bar fare. Unfortunately the pork tacos were incredibly dry. The service was also quite slow for only having maybe four or five other two and three top tables. Our server was very nice and friendly, the service was just very slow.

I ordered the cowboy burger and it was delicious! I love the waterfront seating as well. Service isn’t that great, our waiter never came out with the bill so we had to go inside and ask for it.

First time here. Smaller menu, but great food. Had the scallop and shrimp kabob. Very good. Their seating is most outdoors, so plan accordingly. Lots of room though.

Feedback for the owners:1) our beer was warm and there were only 5 taps on the menu... summer shandy?!?! Ugh.2) menu is pretty limited. The nacho cheese with the Chips N Dips is unnecessary.3) could use a weekday happy hourSetting is pretty cool but would like to see it liven up a bit

Lunch: Not much to choose from on the menu and it was over priced. Location is great, right on the lake. Music was a little too loud where we were sitting for normal conversation.

Good food and nice people!

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this fine place. Well we passed a fine evening and the restaurant was certainly one of the reasons for the outstanding gathering. The waiters contributed in a pleasant style, the meals were appetizing and my guests were very delighted. We shall surely return for more celebrations. thanks very much.

Very nice atmosphere. Good selection of beers and great view of the lake. Our waiter was very courteous. Fish and chips very good too.

No handicap parking or indoor seating. Service took twice as long as it should have especially for not being busy. Burger was pretty small for the price paid but was decent as were the nachos. Would make eye contact with other waitresses and they would purposely avoid us. Also heads up they don't take amex.

Nice atmosphere but average food. If you want excellent food with the great atmosphere, go to Aqua just down the road. You will pay a little more but the food and service is well worth it!

Nice spot on white Bear lake.

Very nice setting on the water. We waited to be seated and ended up seating ourselves. Server acknowledged us as we sat down but then it took a long time to see a menu, then a long time to take our order but not too long a wait for the food. I guess I would say they're not too attentive to the customer??? I might give them another try because of the waterfront seating before ruling them out.

Came through White Bear while in from out of town and made time to visit this establishment twice because it was so wonderful! Thank you to the amazing servers and staff that are working safely and diligently. Even with some obnoxious patrons, you handled everything swimmingly and made my boyfriend's and my experience one to remember. The ceviche, pickles, and Cuban were all delicious and the Blackberry Mojito is the way to go! We will be back!

Beautiful view of the lake! Love the patio. Menu is kind of limited. Food portions are small. We had nachos for appetizer and very disappointed, yucky cheese dip, cheap salsa, bad guacamole. They need to step up the food quality and quantity.

We stopped by when it wasn't busy, however it took 55 mins (1 hour!!) Between the time we ordered our food and got our food. We kept asking how much longer and the waitress kept telling us our order was next but then would see 5 other orders come out to other people.

This was such a disappointing experience. This place was not prepared to reopen after the “stay at home order“ was lifted to say the least. We waited about an hour and a half for a table, they ran out of most beers, and even some food options. Then to top it off my girlfriend bit into a raw piece of chicken on their boneless wings. They did take that off the bill, but obviously the damage was already done. Needless to say we won’t be back.

They offer a nice variety of delicious food. I liked dining here. Staff members are always nice, pricing is affordable and the place is always clean.

Great atmosphere, cold beer and tasty appetizers.

It is a small, friendly place on the edge of the water of white bear lake. Smaller menu but great choices. Great patio spot. Perfect date shot too.

Wonderful place to sit outside near the water when it's warm out. This place is good to just grab drinks, appetizers, or a full meal. Animals are welcome and they even bring a water bowl out for your dog.

The patio was a fabulous place to dine on a nice summer evening. We were seated right away and the waitress took our drink and appetizer orders promptly. She seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Our appetizer came out right away, even before our drinks! Then it seemed as though our waitress forgot us. We didn't see her again until she cleared away the appetizer dishes, and even then she didn't offer to take our entree orders. I had to tell her we were ready to order. Maybe she thought were were just in for drinks and an appetizer? Anyway, once we ordered the food came quickly. Comments from my fellow diners ranged from "this is very good" to "this is just ok." Overall, it was a good experience, although I think everything is overpriced. $16 for a salad served in a plastic take out container?

Service is usually sub-par (we have had 1 great server there before, but usually the young gals working are overwhelmed with the crowd and too young to know what beer they're serving), but the view and atmosphere make up for it! They have a smaller menu, but enough great choices for a quick bite and the feeling of a mini vacation. We love this spot! And you can bring your pup! Also a bonus, watching wildlife along the shoreline next to the deck - amazing!

My hubby and I ride our bikes around the lake and always stop here for dinner. Friendly staff, delicious food, fast service and great atmosphere on the lake. We look forward to them opening every season! Best spot in town!

From the first moment you enter this restaurant the stuff gives you an enjoyable feeling. Very congenial team, it is a nice restaurant to to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. yummy food, professional chef de cuisine, modest pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.

To be completely transparent, I was a little hesitant to come here due to the mixed reviews. However, I really wanted to try a new place and it was a gorgeous weather for my birthday yesterday so what better way to dine than on the water? We showed up around 5:00 and were seated right away which was a nice surprise. I got the fried shrimp basket- it was really tasty and came with a very generous portion of shrimp and fries. My family got the fish tacos and the chipotle chicken sandwich. All of us loved the food and we had really good service. I am so glad we went and we'll definitely be back!

Rented a pontoon for a bachelorette party. The workers were really helpful getting us our boat and set up. The radio on the boat wasn’t working so they gave all 8 of us complimentary mimosas! Great place!

Food was spendy and took over a hour (on a Sunday where we were able to find a seats right away) for our group of 8 to receive our dish. View and setting are terrific, so the hour wait at least had views. I probably won't be going back. Staff was awesome, friendly and extremely helpful

I would rate it 0 stars if I could. We came during rush hour and expected food to take a little longer NOT OVER 2 HOURS. The entire time the owner proceeds to blame the staff because they are "young college kids" and are slow. The food was average and the owner kept accusing us of asking for free food and goes as far as to discuss our table with some of his friends at another table. Overall probably the worst dining experience I've ever had in my entire life. I feel sorry for the staff obviously working hard while having their owner throw them under the bus.EDIT: This occurred before COVID lock down. The blanket statement response from the owner does not apply to this situation.
